Astronauts Hazzaa AlMansoori and Sultan AlNeyadi are undergoing theoretical and practical training sessions on the T-38 jet
The theoretical sessions cover engines, electric, hydraulic, fuel and control systems, radar, telecommunication, and navigation systems, pilot’s emergency ejection seat and water survival.
Practical sessions cover water survival and use of survival equipment, standard operating procedures (pre, during and post flight), manoeuvres and exposure to high G force, dealing with unusual scenarios and applying emergency measures, planning the trajectory of the trip and issuing a flight permit alongside communicating with traffic control towers and discussing the objectives of the flight (before and after).
